Anna is from Cape Town, South Africa. She graduated from Onderstepoort Faculty of Veterinary Science in Pretoria in 1997 and moved to the UK where she worked for 10 years in a number of veterinary practices in the south of England. She specialises in small animal veterinary and her special interests include feline medicine and soft-tissue surgery. She met Juan whilst working in Hertfordshire and a few years later they decided to move to Mallorca where they have been practising for six years before setting up CalviàVet together.
Juan José Fernández

Juan José is from Zaragoza in Northern Spain and finished his veterinary studies at the University of Glasgow in 1995. He remained in the UK and worked in various clinics and hospitals over a 13 year period. He was appointed head vet in charge of a five-vet team in a large veterinary hospital in Farnham, Surrey before moving to Mallorca with Anna in 2007. His special interest is small animal surgery, both orthopaedic and soft-tissue, and he has completed numerous post-graduate courses as well as assisted at several surgical specialist referral centres in the UK, including working with “Supervet” Noel FitzPatrick
